Ganga Aarti Triveni Ghat
‘Triveni Ghat’ as the name itself says, is a meeting point of 3 rivers. The Sangam of three holy rivers are Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati. Taking a bath at Triveni Ghatin Rishikesh is said to be the holiest as well as Maa Ganga bless you and cleanse all your sins.
In Rishikesh, Triveni Ghat is the holiest bathing place and Maha Aarti is performed here twice a day. There is a large crowd of devotees to be the witness of this pure divine aarti. There is also Chanting of aartis and mantras offering Holy Diyas to the River Ganga and drumming bells that make the surrounding atmosphere divine and feel amazing. With this, devotees float lighting Diyas down the river.
The Triveni Ghat also appeared in Hindu Mythology like Ramayan and Mahabharat. There is Lord Krishna’s Chattri built at Triveni Ghat. As legends say, Triveni Ghat is where Lord Krishna was cremated. Rituals like Shradhdh and Mundan are also done at this Triveni ghat in Rishikesh. Ganga Dussehra, Purnima, Ekadashi, etc are the occasions where bathing is believed to be auspicious.
